January - February - March
AUSTRALIA has been recognized as one of the hottest countries on earth during the summer months, which unfortunately is also a major holiday period for pet owners.
Consequently, over the years we have developed our fire plan. This includes back up power via a 3.5 tonne generator, roof sprinklers, two 22,000 gallon reserve water tanks with their own petrol pump in case of electrical failure. There is a bore, as we have no mains water. A 1,000 litre mobile tank was purchased for spot fires. Smoke detectors have been installed, and cameras surround the facility.
However – there are no guarantees that your dogs will be safe in the event of a fire.
- There is little possibility of evacuation
- Smoke inhalation could kill dogs before the fire reached the facility
- Our staff live locally, and would be evacuating their own families
As the owner of Mornington Lodge, I am committed to keeping guests as safe as humanly possible.
As the owner of your dogs, please be aware that a fire could be on my doorstep at midnight, with the roads blocked, and no assistance or CFA close by.
