Please download and print a copy of our Admission Form, below, and bring it with you on admission.

We have an answering machine to take your call if we are not in the office.
To allow us to process your booking or enquiry please leave your name, telephone number, required dates and details of your pet. We will return your call promptly and advise if we have a vacancy.
If you have not heard from us within 48 hours to confirm your booking, please call us back to verify that we have received your message.

It is important to note that we must confirm your booking directly with you. If we have not done so then your booking is not valid.

*A surchage applies to all credit card transactions.

Booking & Deposit Information

Deposits:

The purpose of a deposit is to guarantee the accommodation dates you have reserved. This is especially relevant in a small, boutique facility such as Mornington Lodge.

We require a 30% deposit on all reservations. This is fully refundable (less $30) up until 30 days before your booked date.

After that time frame, deposits are non refundable and non transferable as we lock in the staff roster 30 days in advance, and are committed to paying those allocated hours.

We appreciate your understanding that we need to offer a consistent and premium level of service that meets our customers expectations. This cannot be done without trained and experienced staff, whom we value and could not retain if we cut their shifts at short notice.

Please note that this policy still applies to last minute reservations which require us to call in extra staff at the last minute. Please understand that we cannot cancel staff last minute and therefore are required to pay them.

The $30 is a booking fee and is non-refundable.

Christmas and Easter Deposits:

Easter deposits:
A deposit $250 per guest is required to confirm your reservation. This deposit (less $30) is fully refundable up until 30 days prior to your booked date.

Christmas deposits:
A deposit of $350 per guest is required to confirm your reservation. This deposit (less $30) is fully refundable up until the Melbourne Cup weekend.

COVID-19 exceptions:
If there is a Lockdown within Victoria we can transfer 50% of your deposit to a booking in the future.

Please note: For All bookings you will be charged for days booked, not days used.

 

Occasional Price Increases

New clients come to us via a variety of sources, mostly however through recommendations and research. Customers return to us when we meet their expectations of a premium facility.

These expectations are met through trained and committed staff, continual maintenance and innovation, the highest quality foods, fully heated and cooled facilities and an ultra clean environment.

When wages, superannuation and suppliers’ products & services increase without notice; we endeavour to absorb these costs. However, there comes a point when we can no longer do so, at which time there is a guest rate increase.

We do not like having to implement increases without notice, however if we wish to continue to provide the best that we can, then we hope that you as a customer and an important part of the Mornington Lodge family, can understand when we are required to do so.

Rates apply from 1 January 2022

We strive to keep our daily rates affordable for everyone. 

Rates commence from the day of admission.

There is a late check out of 11am, after which that day will be charged.

There is a one off fee of $45 – $65 which covers regular brushing and health checks, and a warm shampoo, conditioning rinse and blow dry before going home.

Extra baths during a visit can be accommodated – prices depend on size of guest and coat length.

Due to staff penalty rates, a 20% surcharge applies to our peak periods including school holidays, weekends and public holidays, and the morning of departure.

Our Discount Policy

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your enquiry to stay at Mornington Lodge. We do everything possible to ensure your dog(s) will enjoy their visit.

To this end, we provide all the extras to make this happen. This includes at least 3 hours of activities each day, heated accommodation, premium foods and one on one daily brushing and/or health checks.

Long-term Visits

Clients sometimes ask if a discount applies for guests who are staying long term. We would love to be able to offer this, however long term guests (4 weeks or more) require even higher levels of one on one attention and resources to maintain full physical and mental health. This includes extra staff time, extra activities, extra food and extra grooming. Whilst we are happy to absorb these extra costs, there is no room to move on the daily rate.

Supplying your own food

A number of guests bring in their own meals, and some owners ask if they can have a discount due to supplying their own food. This is a reasonable request, as the facility does not have to provide their own premium foods.

However, this saving is more than offset by the large amount of work involved in storing, defrosting, cooking, and preparing 40 to 60 individualised meals every morning and afternoon for guests who have supplied their own complex dietary plans. Once again, this involves large amounts of staff time and extra refrigeration and freezer units which we absorb.

At this stage, we are not charging a surcharge for guests who arrive with their own dietary plans that are non medical related, however in the interests of maintaining an affordable daily rate; this may be something we may need to introduce in the future.
